Private Lessons at Dekalb High School
Why private lessons?
Whether a beginner or advanced player, private lessons will move the student to a higher level of playing, maturity, and confidence as these lessons are custom-tailored for each student’s individual needs/wants.
How much and when are private lessons?
Private lessons vary in price depending on teacher and last between 20 and 25 minutes. Students will have a scheduled lesson time that will remain the same every week. Typically, your lesson time will be once a week during your band class period.
Who will be my student’s teacher?
We work hard to bring in the best available teachers and musicians in the area. All of our teachers have years of playing experience as well as teaching experience. They are experts on the instruments they teach, providing your student with an outstanding example to follow.
Do I have to pay even if I don’t show up for my lesson?
Yes! Students are obligated to pay for their scheduled lesson. Please understand that being a private lesson teacher is an occupation and if students do not pay for their scheduled lesson, the private instructor is out both travel time and money, and we know how expensive gas is! In case of emergency or illness, it is the responsibility of the student and/or parent to contact the private lesson teacher to schedule a make-up lesson.
Do I have a lesson even if we don’t have school?
No. When Dekalb High School does not have school, we will not have a lesson that day. However, it is possible that an alternate time may be worked out for a make-up lesson if so desired.
