Congratulations to both our 7th grade band and our 8th grade band! Both groups received Gold Ratings at ISSMA Organizational contest held at Garrett HS on April 9th! Both groups performed very well and should be commended for their efforts! The 8th grade band received the best scores DMS has received in many years, while also competing in the highest level! You can hear recording of their performance below. Great job to both groups!
Saturday, April 24th is our annual DCMA Fish Fry, this year held at DMS. The event will begin at 4:30 and will include performances by all DMS and DHS Jazz Bands and Show Choirs. Our middle school groups will be performing around 5pm. Come out and support the students!
Our annual Spring Concert is scheduled for Monday, May 17th beginning at 7pm. It will feature all band students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. 6th and 7th graders will need to arrive at 6:15 for a short rehearsal before the concert and the 8th grade students need to arrive at 6:45. Bring your friends and family to the final concert of the year!
Private Lessons will be beginning soon! Private lessons are a sure way to ensure long term success for your child. They receive 25 minutes of one-on-one instruction, which is proven to be the best way to teach! We bring in some of the finest teachers and performers from the area to teach students on all instruments. Forms are available online (upper left) or in the band rooml. Help ensure long-term success for your student!
